1) You are working on a paper for class and Microsoft Word freezes. What can you do to unfreeze it?
You can use the Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys all at one time and shut all programs down; in this case you may lose what you are working on but can look in the trash bin or recently opened documents to recover the documents you were working on before your computer froze. The Auto Save Recovery will save the document if it is enabled as your computer is frozen and being shut down.
2) You lost the paper that you were writing because you forgot to save your file. How can you set up Word so you can prevent this from happening in the future?
To prevent losing a document in the future, enabling the Auto Save Recovery Information, you will be able to access the file that is lost because it will automatically save to your documents.
3) You saved a file on your computer and now you cannot remember where you saved it. How can you find your document?
You can go back into word and click on File and click on recent and the recent saved and opened files should be on the list.
Some temporary file names start with the tilde (~) symbol. These files might not appear in the list of temporary files that you found in method 5: "Search for temporary files."

Follow these steps to find any files that begin with ~:
  1. Click Start, and then click Search.
  2. In the lower-left corner of the Windows Desktop Search pane, click Click here to use Search Companion, if that option is listed.
  3. In the Search Companion pane, click All Files and Folders.
  4. In the All or part of the file name: box, copy and paste (or type) the following text:
~*.*
  1. In the Look in box, click My Computer.
  2. Click the two chevrons next to When was it modified?.
  3. Click Specify dates, and then type the from and to dates to include the time period since you last opened the file.
  4. Click Search.
  5. On the View menu, click Details.
  6. On the View menu, click Arrange Icons by, and then click Modified.
  7. Scroll through the files, searching for files that match the last dates and times that you edited the document.
If you find the document that you are looking for, go to the "How to troubleshoot damaged documents" section for more information about how to recover information from the document.
4) Your computer is running slowly and is crashing regularly. What can you do to speed up your computer?
Check registry, that can repair errors and tune up the processor, there are too many programs running in the background, decreasing the number of program running will make the computer speed fast, and the spyware that your computer has also causes a computer to be slow.

5) You deleted an item and now realize that you need it. Can you retrieve it?
This usually happens when you try "cleaning things up a bit", but unless you’ve emptied the Recycle Bin, your document should still be unharmed. Display the desktop and double-click on the Recycle Bin icon to locate the file.

6) Your file won’t print. What things should you check for to figure out why it is not printing?
  1. Check whether you logged onto the network correctly and/or whether you are still logged on as yourself. If you are not properly logged on, the network system will not recognize you as a legitimate user and refuse to connect your computer to the printer. Save your document, close the program and log on correctly.
  2. Check the printer. It may be OFFLINE or there may be a paper jam. The paper tray may need to be refilled too.
  3. Check the computer-printer or computer-network connection at the back of the system as it may have loosened somehow and severed communication between the computer and the printer.
Challenge: Your mouse has stopped working. How do you save your document in Word, quit the program, and shut down the computer without using your mouse.
To save: (Ctrl+S)
To quit the program: ALT+ F4
Shut Down: Windows Key > U > U (sequentially)
